Sachin Tendulkar, the name itself strikes terror in the beans of bowlers all around the world. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, born on 24th April, 1973 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, often referred to as 'The Little Master' or 'The Master Blaster', is a former Indian cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Sachin's father, Ramesh Tendulkar, was well known Marathi novelist and his mother Rajni worked in the insurance company.

As a young boy Tendulkar was very mischievous. To curb his bullying tt:ndencies, he was introduced to cricket in 1984. He started taking coaching from the famous cricket coach, Ramakant Achrekar, at Shivaji Park, Dadar Sachin's, talent in the sport was apparent and almost immediately exposed. Award, to receive Padma Vibhushan (2008), the second highest civilian honour of India He is also the youngest recepient of Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, in 2014. He was also voted as the 'Cricketer of the Generation' in 2014. He also holds many other honours and accolades in his name like Arjuna Award, Maharashtra Bhushan Award etc.

He is a trailblazer to many of the youngsters in the world. He retired from the One Day International competition m December 2012 after swearing in as a Member of Parhament (Rajya Sabha) in New Delhi, June 2012. In the following year, i.e. 2013, he announced retiring from cricket in all forms. He played his last match in November 2013, finishing it with a jaw dropping accumulation of statistics that included more than 34000 runs and 100 centuries in international play. He also wrote an autobiography, 'Playing it My Way,' which came out m October 2014.

He has also invested in many businesses such as Future Group, Manipal Group etc. He is a co-owner of two restaurants in Mumbai and was ranked as the 5lst richest sportsman in the world according to Forbes list of world’s highest paid athletes 2013.
