Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born on 23 July 1856 in Ratnagiri (Maharashtra). He was very fond of listening to heroic stories. He used to tell stories from his grandfather. Bal Gangadhar's arms were stunned after listening to the songs like Nana Saheb, Tatya Tope, Rani of Jhansi etc.

His father Gangadhar Pant was transferred to Poona. He took admission in Angelo Bernakular School there. At the age of sixteen, when he got married to a daughter named Satyabhama, he was a matric student. After passing matriculation examination, he joined Deccan College. In 1877 he passed the BA. Passed the test of. Later he passed the legal examination.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak's childhood was named Balwant Rao. The people of the house and their companions used to call them in the name of Baal. His father's name was Gangadhar, hence his name was Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak started two weekly newspapers. One was Marathi Weekly Kesari and second English weekly Maratha.

The period from 1890 to 1897 was very important for Bal Gangadhar Tilak. During this time, his political identity had been established. They started guiding the students who advocated.

Tilak became a member of the municipal corporation of Poona. Later the Bombay Legislative Assembly was a scary one. He was also a fellow of the Bombay University. He wrote a book named Oryan.

A youth of the Commissioner, Rand, was appointed to implement the Prevention of Disease Control in Poona. Bhandi was arrested for Bal Gangadhar in the murder case of Rant. This is the event of 1897. In jail, Bal Gangadhar composed a priceless book named Arctic Home in the Veedaj.

In 1880, Bal Gangadhar was released from prison on the day of Diwali. One of his articles in Kesari was printed in the country's ill-fated. He was arrested on 24 June 1907 in Bombay. He was sent out of India by punishing six years.

In July 1920, Bal Gangadhar Tilak's health had dropped considerably. He died on August 1, 1920.
