Lala Lajpat Rai was born on 28 January 1865 in the house of his maternal grandfather. His father's name was Munshi Radhakishan Garg.

Lalaji was active in social activities, he started to openly participate in political activities. Under the conspiracy of the British, the British prepared a partition of Bengal In such a time, Bipin Chandra Pal from Bengal, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak from Maharashtra and Lala Lajpat Rai from Punjab spoke vociferously. 'Simon Commission' reached Lahore on October 30, 1928. Under the leadership of Lala Lajpat Rai, Indians protested strongly with the slogans of 'Get Back to Simon Commission'. British officials badly beat Lala Lajpat Rai with sticks The wounds were so deep that on November 17, 1928 Lala Lajpat Rai died.
