History of India's Independence Day

During the 17th century, some European merchants entered the border post of the Indian subcontinent. Due to its large military power, India was enslaved by the British East India Company. During the 18th century, the British had established their own local empire and effective power throughout India. In 1857 a very large independence revolution had started by the people of India against the British rule. That grave is called the Great Gadar, the revolt of 1857, the Indian Mutiny, the Pathan of 1857 and the Revolt of the Sepoy. It started with the British East India Company Army in Bengal province on May 10, 1857. Indian freedom fighters brought the British Raj to a sense of freedom from that rebellion (Act of 1858, Government of India), India.

The rebellion of 1857 was an effective rebellion, after which many urban societies emerged from all over India. One of them was the Indian National Congress Party, which was formed in the year 1885. Throughout the nation, the period of discontent and sadness promoted non-violent movements (non-cooperation and civil disobedience movement), which Gandhi led his leadership.

At the Indian National Congress Convention in Lahore in 1929, India announced the full Swaraj. Earlier, between 1930 and 1947, the Indian Independence Day was announced on January 26. Indian National Congress was requested by the Indian National Congress for Civil Disobedience Movement and at the same time, to complete independence of India, it was also asked to follow the orders.

After the Second World War, in 1947, the British Government was convinced that it could not show India its power for a long time. Indian freedom fighters were constantly fighting and then the British decided to free India, although after India's independence (15 August 1947) there were Hindu-Muslim riots which separated India and Pakistan. Mohammed Ali Jinnah became the first Governor General of Pakistan while Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Azad India's first Prime Minister. An official function was held in Delhi, the capital of the country where all the big leaders and freedom fighters (Abul Kalam Azad, BR Ambedkar, Master Tara Singh, etc.) participated in celebrating the festival of independence.

During the division of the partition, a large number of people died on both sides while others from other areas had celebrated Independence Day. In the constitutional hall, New Delhi under the leadership of President Rajendra Prasad, on August 14, at the 11th night, the 5th meeting of the Constituent Assembly was held where Jawaharlal Nehru delivered his speech.

Midnight on August 15, 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru declared India an independent country where he delivered the speech "Trieste Destiny". During his speech, he said, "Years ago we had pledged to Bhagyavadhu and now the time has come when we will fulfill our promise, neither in full or full volume, but very firmly. When the world sleeps at the touch of midnight hour, India will wake up for life and freedom. A moment will come, which will come, but sometime in history, when we move from old to new, when the age ends and the soul of the nation which has long been medicinal has received the expression. Today we ended our misfortune and India again searched for itself ".

After this, the Assembly members vowed to give their services to the country with full devotion. The officially presented national flag to the assembly by the group of Indian women. So India became officially an independent country, and Nehru and Viceroy Lord Mountbatten, respectively, became Prime Minister and Governor General. Mahatma Gandhi was not involved in this celebration. He stayed in Calcutta and kept a 24-hour fast for promoting peace among Hindus and Muslims.
