Significance of The Personality Test of UPSC

Feed by Manisha Cat- UPSC

If one sees the relative weightage of the Personality Test out of the total marks (275 out of 2025). Prima-facie one gets an impression that it is not of much importance. But dear friends, this is a wrong and superficial conclusion. In fact the Personality Test has not only got a great significance but is really consequential in deciding whether you will be selected or not at the very first place; and secondly if you are selected whether you will get the service of your choice or not.

Why the second part becomes important is because very often you see that even after getting selected in the final list the candidate is still not happy because he/she could not get the service of his/her choice. As a consequence he/she has to appear again for this marathon, your-long exam and in that sense his/her journey is still on.

Based upon the final results of the previous year exams, it can be concluded that even a difference of a single mark can have an effect of 5 to 6 positions in the final list. So in that sense one can judge the importance of the Personality Test.
