Newspapers have an important purpose of modern civilization. It is usually accepted as a record of current events. But the meaning and role of the newspaper is much more than the only document of events. The newspaper appeared only after the invention of the printing press by Gutenberg. India Gazette is India's first newspaper. It was published in 1744. The circulation of the newspaper has increased. It has become a symbol of civilization.

Newspaper is the means of listening to public opinion. News items are published in various newspapers. All kinds of people read it. The lawyers come to know about matters of social and political injustice through the newsletter. They express their opinions about those cases of injustice.
