Directive Principles must not be confused with Fundamental Rights. The main difference between the two lies in the latter being justifiable, i.e., one can appeal to the Supreme Court of India in case one feels that one's Fundamental Right(s) is/are being violated by the state, Directive Principles, though not justiciable, are no less important for that reason, They place an ideal before the legislators for the framing of new legislation and before the executive for the administration of the country.
