A memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the nation's father, on the banks of river Yamuna in Delhi. Over time, this monument started to be known as Raj Ghat.

Mahatma Gandhi was one of the greatest and undisciplined leaders, who had given respect to everyone. In order to force the British to leave India, they led the path of 'non-violence'. He also actively participated in many movements of freedom including the Quit India Movement and hence, he has been honored as 'Nation Father'.

Raj Ghat is a place where he was cremated after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 31, 1948 and therefore his last resting place was built next to the purity of the river Yamuna.

This monument is made of black marble and an eternal flame burning is considered a symbol of the infiniteity of this great leader in a corner. To reach the platform of this memorial site, there is a path made of stones through green lawns.

Construction of Raj Ghat Vanu Ji Bhuta was done by an architect named, in which the simplicity of life of Mahatma Gandhi ji was shown.

Rajghat Memorial has made a lot of changes in design, keeping its originality and simplicity in mind while incorporating some things at the request of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru after Independence. On the monument 'O Ram', this last word of Mahatma Gandhi ji has been inscribed which means 'o ram' or 'oh lord' is such.

Footwear is removed before entering the memorial site Every Friday, you can participate in a memorial event dedicated to him on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 and can also visit prayer sessions every year during his death anniversary. You can also see two museums including the National Gandhi Museum, which is dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi.

Best time to visit Raj Ghat -

Raj Ghat is open between April and September from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, and during the months of October to March 5:30 pm to 7.00 pm. It remains open all day.
