On this, the English army under the leadership of Sir Hammuross declared war. The Queen had already prepared for the war. They were not so easy to give up Jhansi with such ease. Army was organized with the help of Tatya Tope and Nana Saheb. The English army surrounded Jhansi. The queen also trained her slaves in martial arts, so the slaves also came in the battlefield to fight with the queen. The war started on 18 June 1858. Rani Laxmibai took the form of Chandi. He stabbed the horse's neck and swung his sword with both hands. Wherever the queen went, she could clear the ground. The Queen's sword was glowing with lightning. Suddenly the queen's horse stuck near a drain. The English people surrounded them. Finally, the queen became martyred while fighting the brave warrior.
