Bapu had developed his own techniques of non-violent opposition to India's independence. He gave his non-violent (non-violence) protest to Satyagraha, the moral rule.

In those days, he became famous for his non-violent social defiance throughout India and South Africa. In 1922, with his non-cooperation movement, he started the salt Satyagraha or salt (Dandi) March 12, 1930. Due to the complete efforts of Bapu and all the freedom fighters, India has been able to achieve its independence on 15th August, 1947. The whole country was crying when he was assassinated on January 30, 1948. It is celebrated on October 2 by the United Nations to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. He was a respected person who taught Indian people to wear their clothes and wear them. Once, the British government had banned the supply of cloth in India in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Mahatma Gandhi was determined to do something. They realized that Indians can not be free till they create their own clothes and essential items. Bapu started to encourage Indian people to make their own indigenous cotton cloth using conventional spinning wheels and the curves of India. Traditional hand spinning wheels from that time and Karagh became the symbol of Bapu's Indian independence struggle and life.
