World Heritage Week: 19-25 November

The World Heritage Week is celebrated every year from November 19 to November 25. These are mainly celebrated by the school and college students to make people aware about the importance of cultural heritage and its conservation. Ahmedabad municipal corporation has organized various programs related to the cultural, historical and heritage of India, from historic India's structures, excursions and to celebrate World Heritage Week in the city.

World Heritage Week will be celebrated from Monday (November 19th) to Sunday (November 25) in 2018.

Symbols of celebrating World Heritage Week in India

There are many Indian historical heritage and excursions that symbolize the culture and tradition of ancient Indian people. Some of the important monuments and artifacts of Indian heritage are Delhi Door, Astodia Gate, Red Fort of Delhi, Maneen Burj, Heritage Building of Sardar Patel, Three Doors, Bhadra-Gate, Siddi Sayyad, Sarnath, Kashi, Temple of Varanasi etc. These heritage and memorials of India are ancient assets, we should be protected and protected to give the legacy of this culture and tradition to generations to come. In India, people celebrate the symbols of these heritage and monuments as part of the celebration of World Heritage Week.

How is World Heritage Week celebrated

Students of schools and colleges participate with great enthusiasm to celebrate the World Heritage Week. Nearly 500 students from the municipal school participate in guided tours of the ritual center and the museum of the city. At least 80 students attend tours every week. They make various slogans related to the promotion of the historical heritage and the protection of the monuments of the country.

A quiz contest and cultural heritage program is organized for school children on the historical legacy of Ahmedabad city all week. Along with the Department of Culture and Archeology, the Archaeological Survey of India organizes some programs, such as seminars, photo exhibitions and other competitive events.

Purpose of celebrating World Heritage Week

The main objective of celebrating the World Heritage Week is to encourage people and to raise awareness on the protection and protection of the cultural heritage and monuments of the country.
