Global warming means increase in global global temperature at one level which affects life forms on the surface of the Earth. The factors responsible for this warming can be both natural and human. Warming of the world due to natural factors is not an unusual phenomenon.
Earth's atmosphere is variable. For example, about 18,000 years ago, Earth was about 5 degrees Celsius cooler than today. It was the last glacial period on earth. After this, global temperature increased.
The reason Earth is known as the Green House Effect is kept warm. Without this the earth will be a frozen waste land. The short wave length or hyper-radiation radiation coming from the sun enters the atmosphere and is absorbed from the Earth. The energy observed is also irradiated in space in infra-red wave length. There are gas in the Earth's atmosphere, which trap the radiating outgoing and thus warm the earth.
These gases are known as greenhouse gases. To maintain global energy balance, steam vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, nitroussexide, CFCS and haulon are the prime examples, both environments and surfaces will get hot until outgoing energy is not equal to incoming energy.
An increase in the quality of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere can strengthen the greenhouse effect (increase in temperature of the earth) and cause global warming. Carbon dioxide is the largest contributor to global warming because it is the largest part of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The reason behind this is natural disorder as well as man-made activities.
Volcanic eruptions and forest fires are some of the natural causes that can not be investigated. But the current global trend i.e., deforestation, increasing combustion of fossil fuels has a cumulative effect on net increase in carbon dioxide content. We know that the forest is such areas where green leaves efficiently use carbon dioxide so that they can cook their own food. Deforestation reduces this use of carbon dioxide.
