Old caste system of age is one of the main reasons for social inequality in our country. It has contributed to keeping a large part of the country's population backward.

Origin of caste system has occurred in the early Vedic period. Then it was in existence as the Varna system which divided the society into four divisions. This was a major Brahmin of caste system, who had taken knowledge in scriptures and had priests as well as a teacher. There were second Kshatriya or warrior in the rank.

The rulers also belonged to this caste. Wayanas were involved in business and commerce. The fourth was Shudra, which was considered to be the least caste and artisans, artisans and farmers who served the other three.

Outside of these four, there was a fifth group of untouchables who were treated with contempt and were seen below. They had to do impure jobs.

Caste system was not originally prescribed by birth but this has happened over time. Thus, no one can be born as a Brahmin or a Kshatriya, one can not become one of the actions of anyone.

As a result of caste system, due to its rules, many evils have happened. The society was divided into hard coaches and the people of upper castes exploited the lower caste people - Shudras and untouchables had to do all the main functions. He could not even think of his reforms. His children were to be slaves or bonded laborers, even if they were intelligent and had the desire to study.

These caste bias still suffer our society and become an influential factor in the election .me too. Politicians encourage their approach to their advantage and take advantage of them. Discrimination against the lower castes is widely prevailing and has kept a large percentage of our impersonation backward. This is probably one of the main reasons behind India's backwardness.

Many social reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Dayanand Saraswati tried to end caste discrimination. Leaders of independent India were also against this system. Mahatma Gandhi himself was one of the biggest opponents of discrimination or caste base, and worked largely to assimilate those who were called Harijans in society. Our Constitution also makes the discrimination of any kind illegal. All these efforts resulted in flexibility. People have gained big awareness and the caste system is not adhered to so strictly today, especially in urban areas. The progress of science and technology and progress in the industry has changed the outlook of people to a great extent.

Even today, the caste system has become fragile, but it still has a lot of power among the rural people. Thus, it has not been completely rooted. We can eliminate this evil by spreading education and creating awareness among people all over the country. Let us increase our help in spreading education, because it is the only solution to most of our problems.
