World Environment Day (WED) was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to mark the inauguration of Stockholm Conference on Human Environment. Every year it is celebrated on June 5, Wade is one of the main vehicles through which the United Nations encourages awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.
