Anant Sarovar temple is located in Kerala and this temple is situated in the heart of a lake. This temple is located in Ananthapura village, which is situated just 6 km away from Kumbal city and this temple is located in Manjeswaram Tehsil of Kasargod district. This temple is also called Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple.

This is the only temple situated in the entire lake in Kerala and it is said that Ananthapadmanabhaswami used to live on this. Ananthapadmanabhaswamy used to live in this place in Ananthapuram according to one Kannani.

The temple built inside this lake is spread over 2 acres. While going to this temple another special thing is like seeing why as soon as one goes towards the temple, a cave appears in the right corner of this lake.

It is said that through this cave, Ananthapadmanabhaswam used to go to Thiruvananthapuram. That is why both of these places have been given the same name but it is far from everywhere.

History of Ananta Sarovar Temple

Due to the history of this temple being quite old, people do not know many things related to this temple. Many years ago on this place, the great Tulu Brahmin Rishi, Divakar Muni Vilvamangalam, had done austerity.

When the sage was doing austerity, Lord Narayan came to appear in the form of a little boy on one day.

The sage became very happy by seeing the young child's face at that speed. But the sage got some concern too, so he asked the little child who he was.

On asking the boy said that he has no parents and no one in his house. Knowing this, the sage got very hurt and he allowed that child to be with him.

The boy agreed to stay with him but kept a condition in him that whenever he felt humiliated, he would leave the sage at that time.

The child served that sage for some time. But the child soon started acting like small children, because of which the sage became angry with that child.

As soon as the sage became angry, the boy became invisible from him and he went on to say that if the sage has to see the child again, then the sage will have to go to the Anantakta forest of Naga Ananta of Nago.

The sage soon understood that the child was not an ordinary child but God was there and he had a great repentance.

From the cave to which the child was invisible, the sage started looking for the boy from the cave. Seeking to find the Rishi reached the sea and the sage went further south and in the last reached the jungle near the sea.

The child who had disappeared from the front of the Vilavamangalam rishi, once again came to the scene in front of the sage as a Mahua tree but suddenly the tree fell down, and on that tree's place Lord Vishnu started to appear and God When Vishnu appeared in front of that sage, Lord Vishnu was sitting on thousands of nago.

The crocodile named Babiya is the protector of this temple

Another interesting story is associated with this temple and this story is here as a protector of the crocodile. For many years a crocodile is seen here. There is a crocodile in the water where all devotees bath in comfort, because the crocodile does not harm anyone. The name of this crocodile is Babela.

After worshiping God, the devotee gives food to Baba in the afternoon. Temple officials say that this crocodile is completely vegetarian and it does not hurt anyone. The laborer's labia does not even eat any fish.

There is a very mysterious and interesting story hidden behind this crocodile. Once Yehapar Shri Vilva Mangalam was doing austerity of Lord Vishnu.

When the sages were doing penance and praying, Lord Krishna came in front of them as a little boy and began to suffer from them, due to which the sage was not able to completely pray to Lord Vishnu.

The sage became very angry and he separated Lord Krishna from the left hand himself.

At the time when Rishi separated Lord Krishna from him, at that time Lord Shiva suddenly disappeared in the cave and then the sage realized that he was not an ordinary child.

The place from which the child went to the cave, there was a rift and the crack still remains. This crocodile lives on the entrance to the cave and works to protect the temple.

In 1945, an English soldier shot and killed a crocodile here. But it is surprising that only a few days later, that British soldier died due to snake bite.

People believe that all this was done by Anant of God of Nago. But after the death of that crocodile, another new crocodile suddenly came into that lake.

In another story, it is said that only one crocodile lives in the water of this lake. When a crocodile dies, then another crocodile comes in its place. That is why all devotees consider this crocodile a lot.

But now again this temple is being considered for establishing the statue of the bitter sugars of Yogam.

Lord Vishnu is sitting in the position sitting on five Gods of Nago Ananta. All religious and caste people are allowed to come to this temple. The responsibility of the District Tourism Promotion Council is to take care of this temple.

This temple has been worked in beautiful carvings on the pavilion. In these carvings, all Dashavatar of Lord Vishnu is depicted. All the nine planets in the free pavilion have been depicted. On one side of Shrikovil, the gatekeeper on the lamps is beautifully made.
