Jai Vilas Mahal is also known as Jai Vilas Palace. It is a palace built in Gwalior, India in the 19th century. It was founded in 1874 by Maharaja Jayajiva Sindiya of Gwalior. Even today the people of the imperial Maratha Sindiya kingdom live here.

This is a great example of European architecture, which was constructed by Sir Michael Philosè. The Palace is a mixture of many architectural styles, whose first floor remains in Tuscan, second Italian-Doric and the third Corinthian style.

It was built centuries ago in 1874 by Maharaja Jayajiva Sindiya. Jai Vilas Palace used to be the house of Shahi Sindiya family. Later part of the Jai Vilas Palace was converted into a museum by Rajmata Shrimant Vijayaraje Sindias.

All this was done in memory of the rich Jivajirao Sindiya. After this, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, President of India also gave H.H. Maharaja Jivajirao Sindiya Museum was established on 12 December 1964.

The area of ​​Jai Vilas Palace is spread over 1,240,771 square feet and it is famous for the Darbar Hall.

Durbar Hall is decorated with golden splendor and gold water. In addition, there is a huge chandelier and huge carpet in the hall. This palace is 100 feet long, 50 feet wide and 41 feet high.

It is believed that eight elephants were sacked from the court. But there is no proof that this evidence exists in history.

Along with the strange things, the entire room is filled with: the cut-glass furniture, the stuffed tiger and the woman's boat running in the swimming pool.

A model rail is also displayed in the cave dining room. Which works to transport food from one place to another.
