1. Speech on Road Safety

Dear Society Members - You all have a very good morning!

As president of our society's organizing committee, I have organized a program on 'Safety Road Safety Week' from today, in which I would like to discuss some important road safety measures for members of my society. As we read in all the newspapers that for the rising cases of road accidents, especially for today's younger generation, I have full hopes that through this dialogue some awareness among the people will be spread and they will learn to be more responsible and extra careful. Walking on the road

Please allow me to keep some issues in front, resulting in road accidents. Mainly, driving more than the specified limit causes most accidents on the road. Some drivers or owners themselves adhere to the traffic rules of fear without any fear. Besides, those who are drivers by profession, they have to drive a car throughout the day and sometimes during the night they fail to be attentive and cause accidents on the road. However, now when our government has implemented strict road safety regulations and heavy fines, especially on drinks and drive cases, there has been a considerable decrease in road rage incidents.

Talking about the youth, I have no hesitation in accepting that they drive in a very irresponsible manner and consider the road as their racing track, which results in road accidents again. It becomes the responsibility of the parents to monitor them and realize the importance of safety rules. Occasionally, the vehicle is defective and remains out of service for months that its brakes or clutch does not work and gives rise to road accidents. On top of it, the uneven road surface and the pit contribute to bad road conditions and increase the graph of road accidents.

Recently, after leaving his school, a man died from falling into the pit. There is no shortage of such incidents in our country and it is high time that our government should come out of its state of negligence for poor maintenance of public infrastructure. Then, awareness campaign should be launched everywhere so that citizens of our country are serious about adopting road safety measures. In fact, my advice to the government will be to suspend licenses of people involved in Road Rage cases. Criminals should be put in jail and given strict punishment.

Less or any use of seat belt and helmet also does not contribute in such cases. According to a recent report, it is a two-wheeler and truck which causes about 40% of deaths in our country. In India, cases of road accidents are three times higher than the developed nations of the world. Therefore, the only way to curb the rate of deaths due to road accidents is to follow the safety rules honestly or to walk on the case while driving a vehicle on the road. Those who are driving should not exceed their speed limit so that if the need arises, the vehicle can be stopped for passersby or there may be something in your way.

Thanks!

2. Speech on Road Safety

Good morning honorable principals, respected teachers and my dear students!

Today, this special gathering has been organized in connection with the vehicles for a significant reason the students are using these days. As a teacher in this school, I think it is my duty to think about your security when it comes to school.

Yesterday, I saw a student who was on his bike and was ruthlessly riding all the way. This can be dangerous for those people who were using the road or for themselves. Ruthless driving is one of the main reasons for road accidents. There are many other cases when we have seen the students who did not have a driving license, they were driving carnally on the road and which is very embarrassing for us because it is a disobedience to our country's laws.

If we talk about road safety, then it can be possible only when we follow the rules and regulations of road safety. Rules are different for two wheel vehicles with four wheel vehicles. If you are on a two-wheeler vehicle, it is important to wear a helmet and drive in a limited speed. If you are on four wheel vehicles, it is important to wear seat belts and definitely have to maintain the speed limit. One of the main reasons for road accidents is accidents due to drinks and drives. Accidents due to drink and drive or harsh driving are the reasons for the driver's negligence and lack of strictness on the roads.

According to the Global Status Report given on 2013, more than two lakh people die in road accidents every year in India. Due to negligence of drivers, about a hundred people are killed every day and thousands of people are injured in road accidents. One reason for road accidents can also be the situation of roads. In India, there are many roads which are not in good condition and have become dangerous for driving. Especially in the rainy season, the condition of roads has worsened and they get cracks in it. The poor condition of roads is still a major tragedy of India.

This causes problems while driving, and sometimes the vehicle gets trapped due to crack and water. There are few such places in India where these problems do not occur or the roads are in good condition in the rainy season. The cause of this problem is the height of corruption in India. It is normal to break traffic rules and safety rules because it only needs some money to get it out of trouble and that is it. Tripling on the bike is prohibited for the purpose of security, but still we can see many people freely because people have no fear in their mind because they know they only need money.

As we move through this, the problem will get deeper. It needs not only the government but also the contribution of all. I hope that from now on, along with every student, other people will also remember that the security is the first. On this note, I want to end my speech and give special thanks to our Honorable Principal for giving me this opportunity.

Thanks!

3. Speech on Road Safety

Good morning dear students!

Today I stand in front of you all as a class teacher and also to give a speech on road safety. Now you are not a small child who does not know the safety rules while walking on the road. There is a wonderful saying, "Excuse me better". However, we forget all this and at times it becomes so merciless that we put our lives at risk and put it in danger.

Do we listen to the news of those people who become victims of road rage or get involved in road accidents? Unfortunately, some die only on the spot and some get serious injuries which remain lonely throughout life. Accidents have become a major cause behind the increase in mortality in our country, and between that time when the government is implementing road safety measures.

Many of you will not know that this is Abu Dhabi, which is discredited for most of the road in the world. Due to fatal injuries on road traffic, there are an average of 38 deaths per month, and mainly children of 0 to 14 years are involved in such cases.

Therefore, it establishes the fact that everyone should especially be cautious when walking pedestrians on the road and follow the safety rules. This is a pedestrian, which is mainly responsible for the accident because it only happens when it runs negligently or gives no attention to the traffic signals or does not run on the specified crosswalk, which are deadly cases of injuries. That's why I request you all to be alert and never stay in a hurry while on the road. Apart from this, many people are often seen obstructing the normal flow of traffic, please note that this can prove to be very dangerous for someone's life and therefore should be strictly avoided. Always use zebra crossing to walk down the road. Keep your eyes and ears open and hear horny sounds when you fly around.

If you are going to travel by public transport and if it is a bus, then wait for the bus to stop and board it. Similarly, if you are going out of the way, wait for it to stop properly and make sure no other vehicle obstructs you. To carry some reflective material, make it a point so that the driver can feel your presence from a distance. Do not ignore signs whenever people do that there are serious road accidents.

If you are riding a bicycle on the road, be even more careful and make sure that your bicycle is in the light and working at their proper places. Avoid taking bicycles on the second, busy road and try to use public transportation.

However, there is no guarantee that through these preventive measures, we will be able to avoid deadly cases of road accidents, but we can definitely avoid danger by taking vigil on the road and following all safety rules. Students, always remember that there is no reset button in life, so never be careless.

Hope all of you will remember my things and in fact educate others about the importance of road safety rules.

Thanks!

4. Speech on Road Safety

Good Morning ladies and gentlemen!

First of all, I would like to thank all the program organizers and the management team that such a great effort for public welfare and, of course, all those people who are gathered here with us all. Today, this social program has been organized in this area because the number of road accidents is increasing day by day and thus people need to be aware of this public issue.

More than 1.2 million people are killed every year and 20 to 50 million people suffer from serious injuries worldwide due to road accidents, and hence it has become a serious issue these days. According to a report known as "Global Position Report on Road Safety", road accidents will be the fifth leading cause of death by 2030. We should consider it an alarm for ourselves because most of the road accidents are pre-negligence and hence it is becoming a big issue.

There may be several reasons for road accidents. Negligence or negligence of the driver or any other person is the main reason for road accidents. People do not follow traffic guidelines and rules properly and hence cause serious injuries and deaths. We can usually see people who jump in traffic signals, drive into drugs, do not wear seat belts etc. We all know what kind of rules and regulation there are in India. There is no proper rule on the roads, regulation and strictness. There are very few places in India, where they adhere to the proper rules. But this is not limited to the government itself, but people must have some respect for the rules and laws too.

In many places in India there is a lack of emergency services for the treatment of such people who are victims of an accident. There are many other reasons for road accidents. Getting a driving license has become a lot easier these days and it is dangerous because those who do not know about driving correctly can harm others who use the same road. Population explosions in the country, developments in economics, industrialization and motoring are the roots of these accidents. The more modern the country, the more the use of vehicles will grow. The problem of road safety is that everyone is using the roads.

There is an urgent need for strict rules and regulations to protect the roads. When driving or using a vehicle, everyone should follow the instructions and rules. These days, the bikes are increasing in the middle of the youngsters and therefore they should follow the rules like wearing helmets and speed limits. When using a car, we should always use the seatbelt and maintain the speed limit. Harsh or driving while drunk driving is the main reason for accidents with cars.

Our life is in our hands and thus it is necessary to follow the rules and proper instructions while using the road. On this note, I would like to thank all the people for the gathering and making this social program a success.

Thanks!

5. Speech on Road Safety

Hello everyone! Today as we have gathered here, I take this opportunity to talk about the most significant public health issues nowadays; that is – “Road Safety”.

Let’s begin with the statistics first. It will help us assess the graveness of the situation. According to a recently released report by the World Health Organization, nearly 1.35 Million people lose their life in road accidents globally, every year. Pedestrians and two wheeler riders constitute the most vulnerable lot. The stats of India are no better, with nearly 1.5 Lakh people dying annually due to road accidents. The figures are not only alarming, but also indicate that we are way behind our agendas of development and road safety. I am sorry to say, but given to the present situation, a 50% reduction in road accidents in India by 2020, is a distant dream.

Now that we know that what the stats reveal, it’s time to talk about – causes, effects and counter measures. The world today is developing at a fast pace – growing economy, better business prospects and better job opportunities, have in a way accelerated the sale of all types of commercial and private vehicles. The situation is critical in middle income or developing nations, where streets could be seen bustling with cars, two wheelers, pedestrians etc. In Indian subcontinent, a few Middle East and African countries, animals, carts, road side vendors are easily spotted on the road; adding up to the possibility of a road accident.

Though, we might blame it all on the factors like over population, excess of vehicles and administrative apathy; we cannot shrug off the responsibility that we hold. Figures reveal that the prime causes of road accidents leading to casualties are road rage and over speeding, followed by apathy towards traffic rules. In India alone, nearly 50000 riders lose their life every year, for not wearing a helmet. These figures could have been significantly lower if they had just worn a helmet. What sense does it make to risk your life when it could be saved easily?

It is hard to accept, but accidents are caused by our own disdain to follow the rules than by anything else. Though the departments like police, public works department, have a responsibility to ensure the safety of all users of the road; but firstly the responsibility for the safety of our own as well as others, lies in our own conduct i.e. how we behave while on road. By breaking the traffic rules we not only compromise our own safety but also the safety of others.

A fatal road accident is the biggest tragedy that could happen to your family. Believe every word of it – road accidents are painful not only for the victims but also for those who love them. Seeing someone you love, writhing in pain, is unimaginably heart breaking. You might leave your own or someone else’s family scarred for life; living in deprivation, pain and sorrow. Is it worth to be negligent for a momentary pleasure if it leads to lifelong pain and sorrow? Well, it’s your choice to choose life or death. I would definitely choose life always.

Next obvious question is – Why? Why we don’t follow the rules, why don’t we wear helmets, seat belts, why do we jump the signal, why do we compete with other unruly riders or motorists?  Apathy towards following road safety rules is a habit. Habit that has arisen due to the ignorance towards the safety of our own, as well as others. Today, we love to be on time, we love to compete and we hate delays. Of course your time is precious, but is it more precious than life? Not following the traffic rules and copying other unruly road users; could have fatal consequences.

The governments are more concerned to curb down road accidents and have also paced up preventive measures. Traffic signals have been installed on every crossing; the roads are well lit up; there is separate lane and bridges for the pedestrians. Some places also have dedicated roads for motorcyclists and heavy vehicles like buses etc. Many things are being done to ensure our safe transit, but it is upon us to utilize the resources in a safe way. Remember the roads are brightly lit and separated for the safety of various users, but not for over speeding and stunting. Authorities can only make laws for our safety, but the first responsibility to implement those lies on us.

For the unruly ones who still don’t follow, strict punishments should be given like – hefty fine and imprisonment. Authorities must adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards traffic rules violations. Then only we could achieve the national as well as global road safety norms.

At last, I would like to thank all of you for being patient listeners and hope that when we part away, we all will drive safe and be concerned for the safety of others as well. Stay safe! God Bless You All!
