Sickle cell disease is an underlying, genetic and deadly disease causing red blood cells disorders that are classified as sickle cell anemia and may lead to death. World Sickle Cell Day is celebrated to cover all curable standards through a rapid awareness program to take control of this genetic health condition across the world. To cure this hemoglobin dysfunction, various types of promotional activities will be organized by the WHO, the World Health Organization.

According to the reports, in Africa, about 1000 children are born every day due to sickle-cell disease and are dying for five years of age. In the United States, about 100,000 people are affected by this disease. People from other countries like India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Arabian Peninsula, Brazil, Suriname, Guyana, Southern Italy, Greece etc. are also being affected by this disease. That is why it is a big public health issue that has to be kept in control to save the future of our entire country.
