Junagarh Fort is in the Bikaner city of Rajasthan state of India. This fort is actually known as Chintamani Fort and Bikaner Fort - Bikaner Fort and in the beginning of the 20th century it was renamed Junagadh because in the 20th century, the family living in the fort was transferred to Lalgarh Palace.

This fort is included in the major Kshatriya of Rajasthan which is not made at the height of the mountain. The present Bikaner city has developed around the fort.

The fort was constructed under the supervision of Kiran Chand, the prime minister of Bikaner ruler Raja Rai Singh, Raja Rai Singh ruled between Bikaner between 1571 and 1611 AD.

The construction of the fort and the ditch of the fort started in 1589 and was completed in 1594. These were built outside the actual fort of the city, these walls and trenches were constructed at a distance of 1.5 km from the city center. The remaining part of Junagadh Fort is surrounded by the Lakshmi Narayan temple.

Historical documents, according to the Junagarh Fort several times enemies were attacked, but no one could ever acquire it, only Kamran Mirza had kept it under control for one day.

History of Junagadh Fort

The ancient city of Junagadh is named after the name of an old fort. It is situated near the Girnar Mountain. Here the places of pre-Harappan period have been excavated. This city was built in the ninth century.

It was the capital of Rajputs. It was a principality. There is a dark basalt rock in the way of Girnar, on which inscriptions representing three dynasties are inscribed.

The ruler of Maurya Ashoka (circa 260-238 BC) Rudradaman (150 AD) and Skand Gupta (circa 455-467). There is also a stupa with caves created by Buddhists during 100-700 AD. Many temples and mosques located near the city reveal its long and complex history.

However, marble work has been done within it. There are many wonderful things worth seeing in this fort. Here, along with the rich heritage of the king there are many havelis and many temples.

Some of the palaces include 'Ganga Mahal', 'Flower Palace', 'Badal Mahal' etc. There is also a museum in this fort which also has historical significance clothes, paintings and weapons. This museum is one of the special attractions of Rajasthan for the tourists.

Here you will find many manuscripts written in Sanskrit and Persian too. The museum built in Junagadh Fort is the biggest attraction for tourists in Bikaner and Rajasthan. This fort museum contains some very rare pictures, jewelery, weapons, biplane etc. of the first world war.

According to historians, the foundations of this fort were laid on Thursday 30 January 1589 on Thursday. Its cornerstone was laid on February 17, 1589.

It was completed on 17 January 1594 on Thursday. Architectural, archaeological and historically significant, the style of Turkey was adopted in the construction of this fort, in which the walls are tilted inwards. Karan Prol is built in the east direction, which has 4 doors and Chand Prol is made in the west direction, which is protected from Dhruv Prol, the only gate.

All prolons are named after the prominent rulers and princes of the royal family of Bikaner. Many of these prol are such that preserve the fort. In the olden days, no war was considered to have been won till the conquest of the fort was captured.

The enemies had to cross the deep ditch, after which the strong walls had to be crossed, then they had to take the prolonges to enter the fort and go there. Prolonged doors are made of very heavy and strong wood. It has concrete iron spearheaded nails.

Palace of Junagadh and Bikaner -

Anup Mahal is a multi-storey building, which used to be the headquarter of the empire in history. Its sealing has been made with the help of wood and glass, as well as its use of Italian tiles and latiss windows and balcony. In this palace some artworks have also been made from gold leaves. It is also considered a huge construction.

The flower palace is the oldest part of the fort which was built by Raja Rai Singh of Bikaner, whose reign was from 1571 to 1668.

Ganga Mahal was constructed in the 20th century by Ganga Singh, who ruled from 1887 to 1943 for 56 years, this fort has a huge durbar hall which is also known as Ganga Singh Hall.

Bikaneri Haveli is a beautiful example of Bikaner's special and famous architecture, Bikaner is located both inside and outside the city. Exotic tourist ardos huxley who came to see Bikaner said that "These havells are proud of Bikaner".

Karan Mahal (Public Audience Hall) was constructed by Karan Singh in 1680 C. It was created in the joy of victory against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. A garden has also been built near this palace and it is included in the famous and huge kilo of Rajasthan. This fort reflects the historic architecture of Rajasthan.

The windows of the fort are made up of colored glass and the complexly painted balcony is constructed from the clock. Later, Rajas, Anoop Singh and Surat Singh also repaired the palaces to make it bright, put glass and made red and golden paint.

There is also a strong niche in the throne room, which is used as a throne.

Badal palace is only part of the existence of Anup Mahal. It is a painting of Shekhawati Dundlod who is honoring the Maharaja of Bikaner in different pagadrias. There are also pictures of people standing on the nails, timber, sword and saw. The pictures of Hindu God Shri Krishna are also made on the walls of the palace.

Chandra Mahal is the most magnificent and magnificent room of the fort, the art and paintings of goddesses made of gold are engaged in which the precious gems are also embedded. In this royal bedroom the glass has been installed in such a way that the king can sit on his bed and see whoever is entering his room.

Maharaja Rai Singh Trust -

Maharaja Rai Singh was built by the Royal Family of Bikaner. So that they can tell more information about the history of the fort related to tourists. Simultaneously, the main objective of establishing this trust was to develop education, culture and people in the state.

Junagarh Fort Museum -

The museum built inside the fort has been named Junagadh Fort Museum, which was established in 1961 by the Maharaja Dr. Kari Singh under the control of "Maharaja Rai Singh Trust".

In this museum, statues of Parsian and Manusmriti, historic paintings, jewelery, royal costumes, royal firman, gallery, customs and goddess are performed. There is also an arsenal in this museum in which memories of past wars have been consolidated.
