I, Archana Gupta - Class X teacher, all of you want to welcome in our school's conference room. There is no special occasion to seek your presence here, but there is an important topic of discussion. As you know students, our most favorite festival, i.e. Diwali, is around the corner and therefore everyone seems so excited. The enthusiasm is quite natural and we look forward to all the kids or adults with great eagerness and anticipation for this wonderful festival.
Not only are we able to escape from our daily, worldly routine, but we can also meet with our friends and relatives, whom we have not met for a long time. Party is organized and desserts are distributed around. The most special moment of all is that of Ganesha and Lakshmi Puja, which we do for all the goddess goddesses for blessings, prosperity and wealth. The whole atmosphere becomes so energetic and charged that we all feel blissful and joyful.
I know those students whom you know this, but do you also know that this festival falls in Kartikamasam according to the Hindu Calendar, i.e. during October or November. This festival is celebrated in honor of Lord Rama, who returned from a 14 year long exile after killing a monster named Ravana. This is clearly one of the most popular festivals in our country and it is celebrated for five consecutive days in many parts of the country. The festival symbolizes the reunion of families and the celebration of life. Interestingly, this festival marks the beginning of a new year in some places in India. The fury of this festival is such that its popularity has also spread abroad.
Not a week before Diwali, Hindus especially start burning their homes and shops, Goddess starts cleaning their homes to welcome Lakshmi. Not only in every place but in the homes, shops and offices, it is done in a clean, clean, but white place with flowers and toys and paintings and whiteness. On this festival season, people wear new clothes and give each other sweets and gifts.
After worshiping during the evening, people usually leave the light at night in the belief that Goddess Lakshmi will reach her place and bless her. Therefore, it should not be dark around and should be welcomed in clean, bright houses.

I, Ankur Prajapati - Teacher of Social Sciences and X (C) Class Teacher, all of you are welcome in the prayer hall. I know that the excitement due to the holiday due to the Diwali season is in the air. Apart from this, all of you are waiting for the Diwali party.
I am very fond of this festival individually on this day, in fact, some days before the festival, our surroundings are covered with light and everything looks clean and polished. Then, the custom to exchange gifts with your relatives, friends and greetings is very attractive.
On this day, the preparation kit starts from the morning because we decorate our homes with flowers, fancy lamps, candles and candles. Wherever we go, we can smell the fragrance of fresh flowers. All this is done to clean, wall painting and decoration as well as to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, who is worshiped in the evening. It is believed that the Goddess comes only in one house, which is pure from all impurities, whether it is dirt, dust or impurity in our mind. We are expected that we will be able to welcome Goddess Lakshmi in our homes to purify both our mind and soul. In the evening, holy worship is done and we all pray for prosperity, good fortune and wealth.

Originally children, Diwali is a five-day festival, which includes:
- Dhanteras: This is a symbol of the inauguration of Diwali festival. On this day, our mother and grandmother buy gold and silver utensils, and it is believed that the purchase of these things brings prosperity among our families.
- Narak Chaturdashi: This day is known as the fourth Diwali and it is celebrated on this day by bathing with oil and using Kumkum on our forehead, while worshiping Lord Kali, Lord Krishna, because he is called Narkasur The monster was killed.
- Diwali: As it is said, the third main festival marks itself, that is the day when we pray with Lord Ganesha and also Goddess Lakshmi.
- Govardhan Pooja: On this day, we all pray to Lord Krishna. In our homes, there is a ritual to prepare and worship Govardhana by using cow dung.
- Bhai Dooj: As the name suggests, this day is for the brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters impose a kumkum or saffron tilak on the forehead of their brothers who in turn give special gifts to their sisters.

As a senior teacher of this school, I feel very happy to thank everyone present here, who gave me the opportunity to give a speech to curb air pollution, which grows in large amounts during Diwali. We celebrate the festival of Diwali with great zeal and celebration and make important preparations.
It is considered a festival of high importance for the Indian people, during which we clean our homes, decorate, buy, gift, kitchen utensils, equipment, cars, golden jewelry, and buy new things and many rituals We do. There are many ancient stories, legends and myths behind this festival.
Women of every house make Rangoli in the creative pattern on the floor of the house and on the pedestrian path. According to regional practices and rituals, there are very few variations in this festival festival. Due to the burst of various types of firecrackers during this festival, along with Diwali festival, there has been an unprecedented increase in environmental pollution worldwide. We are citizens of this country and especially as students like you; Those who are considered as young in our country should understand that festivals should be celebrated with happiness, but not at the cost of harming the environment and health of others.
Even though crackers are sporadically burnt, they cause a lot of noise pollution including air pollution, which makes it difficult for us to breathe. Even though our government has banned bursting firecrackers, we are not leaving immature work and only looking for ways and opportunities for bursting firecrackers. Diwali is such a festival in which, despite restrictions, people are involved in those illegal practices which are also very dangerous for animals alongside us. We do not pay any attention to how much harm it has on our environment.
Due to noise pollution produced during Diwali, the animals become frightened and act in a strange way that can harm others too. In the case of air pollution, its dangerous effects include:
- Temporary or permanent deafness
- Vision defects which are caused by the toxic gases present in the atmosphere.
- Bronchitis problem in case of asthma patients
This is not the end; Smog, which is caused by bursts of crackers, creates a white blind sheet in the environment which ultimately reduces visibility and causes serious accidents on the road. People affected most by bursting firecrackers are also small children as well as old age.
All of us must support our government in order to implement the ban on every person involved in the illegal practices of making and bursting fireworks. You can also make awareness and initiative among your colleagues to stop the burning of firecrackers and make people aware about its consequences during Diwali. That is why it is the responsibility of every one of us to organize such awareness programs, which will eventually urge people to stop crackers.

Today I, Vimal Kumar, the class teacher of VIII -C, would like to give a lecture on one of the relevant topics in the contemporary scenario. The festival of Diwali is just a round of corner which makes it even more important to talk to the problematic issue related to it. It is our duty to bring this issue as responsible citizens of this country and spread awareness among the people.
Have you ever given the students the idea that why is our government sticking to the ban on firecrackers? The fact of this matter lies in the toxic pollutants produced by firecrackers, which prove to be extremely disastrous for our general cause for a simple reason, in which they are copper, sulfur and cadmium and leave nitrous oxide gas, Those who are with chemicals, act as a reduction agent, color filling agents, stabilizer, oxidizers, as well as binders.
There are antimony sulphides for making glitter effects in colors, lithium for red, aluminum for white etc. It is right to say that "everything that is not glitter gold", which mainly means that crackers who paint the agglitter effect and are pleasantly pleasing, their designs are more dangerous than any other gaseous substance. Firecrackers cause more harm to younger children than adults because their ability to absorb and exclude environment agents is not the same. There are some agents present in these firecrackers, such as:
- Aluminum sulphide, which is deliberately used as a color filling agent, is used to make crackers, which is also easy on pocket and is easily available in any dyeing shop. When such an agent breaks down, then Alzheimer's disease can become harmful to the extent of causing death.
- Potassium and ammonium, which are considered oxidizing agents, cause lung cancer.
- Then there is barium nitrate which is poisonous and occurs due to respiratory irritation, gastrointestinal problems, radioactive effects, as well as muscle weakness.
- It is also the result of thyroid complications.
- Copper and lithium compounds and the elements which are kept inside crackers cause hormonal imbalances and prove to be extremely toxic for animals and plants.
Government of India has strictly prohibited workshops which sell firecrackers and also those who illegally burn firecrackers. All of us should collectively support our government with such strict rules to implement such laws. I hope that I am able to alert you all on this issue which is growing at alarming speed and can also provide information about the harmful and dangerous effects of crackers bursting. However, this is not enough because more and more awareness can be spread only with the help of hoarding and organizing workshops as well as seminars, which you can start as proud students of our country too.
